‘She is beautiful though,’ Samantha whispered back.

‘She’s not as beautiful as Lydia,’ he retorted.

Luca nodded in Colin’s direction. Colin smiled wanly. He wasn’t quite sure how he felt about him. Sure, he had felt sorry for him when Lydia took off, but again there was an undefinable, indescribable thing he found unnerving about him.

Samantha raised her glass to Charlotte. ‘So, we’re nearly there, thank the Lord.’
